From model airplanes to drums, to a real life sailboat, my childhood was filled with building, drawing, and well, designing! When I eventually discovered the term “Industrial Design” in high school, I realized that it meshed perfectly with what I had been doing my whole life. I have had the privilege to work with my hands and tinker with technology from an early age. My experience in both of these worlds gives me an intimate understanding of the built and natural world. In an age where we are increasingly distanced from reality – a world where designers create real things with virtual tools – I can bring a dose of real life grit to the table.
